About Janet Lindstrom

Hil I'm Janet (Jan) Lindstrom. I have been the treasurer for Sonshine Community

Ministries since 2016. 

Jan kloss had put something in the church newsletter that Sonshine needed someone to keep track of the finances. My background is in bookkeeping starting back in the early 1960's & working in many genres of businesses. 

I was a widow & semi-retired working part time in the office of a local

restaurant. When I read Jan's article, it was like God spoke to me & said this is a

talent I have given you & now you can serve me doing what you really like to do.

I became a member of Cornerstone back in 1985 when my son Gary started 8™

grade. I have some family who were members, my kids had attended VBS at

Cornerstone & they had (still have) a great youth group. My prior church had

changed what they were teaching & there was no youth group. And Eldridge was

a lot closer to Donahue where we had moved in 1973. 

Over the years, I havetaught Sunday School, junior church & served in the nursery at Cornerstone. I am currently in my 7t year as a tax preparer for a local Jackson Hewitt franchise.

I have many favorite scripture verses, but the one that speaks to me the most is

Isaiah 40:29-31. "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the

weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but

those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like

eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. NIV
