I was born in St Louis, Missouri and grew up there. I went to the University of Missouri at Rolla, where I earned a BS degree in Computer Science. Then I got a job with Deere & Company in 1977, as a Computer Programmer. So I moved to the Quad Cities. I worked with the old IBM mainframe computers.
My wife, Vickie and I had three sons and they grew up in Eldridge. My sons enjoyed little league baseball and I would help their coaches by hitting ground balls or fly balls to the boys during practice time. I was also a leader in the Awana program at Cornerstone, while my sons were in Awanas.
I worked for John Deere for 36 years and then retired in 2014.
In 2014, Sonshine Ministries asked for volunteers to help them, so I volunteered to see what their ministry was like. After a couple of years, I became a board member for Sonshine Ministries, and I have been helping Jan Kloss as her ministry began a Good News Club at Ed White Elementary School.
I also help Jan as she held summer programs for kids at different parks in Davenport.
